Constitutional Carry vs Concealed Handgun License
School Zone Restriction
Ohio schools are still "gun free zones", but citizens with a valid Concealed Handgun License are allowed to carry in their car, in the parking lot ONLY. if they need to enter the building, they MUST lock the firearm in the vehicle.
Constitutional Carry doesn't allow one to carry into the parking lot. Please be aware if your spouse uses your car but doesn't have a CHL.
Possible Restaurant Issue
While drinking isn't EVER legal with a firearm, entering a restaurant COULD be an issue. If a venue carries a Class D Liquor License, Constitutional Carry isn't allowed, but CHL holders are able to be on the premises (including patio areas).
Private Property Gun Free Zones
Private Businesses are allowed to post a no gun policy, and Ohio Gun Owners SHOULD respect their choices on their private property. Ignoring a Gun Free sign COULD get one charged with Trespassing and any escalation that Law Enforcement wants to bring up.
